*This instruction applies to ExaSAN LTO and T-Share LTO.
For Mac User
Step 1: Download LTFS Tools from Accusys Download Center
Path: ExaSAN > For DAS > ExaSAN LTO > LTFS Tools > Mac > ltfs-sde-2.4.1.1-10227.zip

Step 2: Download and install the latest version of macFUSE from https://osxfuse.github.io.
Step 3: Install LTFS driver.
- Install ICUFramework.
- Install ltfssde.

Step 4: Use GUI to format LTO tape.
- Click the LTO drive in GUI as the picture below showed.

Format LTO drive as LTFS:
*Click “Erase,” and then provide a name and serial in the pop-up window. The serial must be 6 characters.

- Click “Mount” to mount LTO volume.

- *For macOS 11 or later version, allow RAIDGuardX to have “Full Disk Access”. Change the setting at Preference -> Security &Privacy.

For Windows User
Step 1: Download LTFS Tools from Accusys Download Center
Path: ExaSAN > For DAS > ExaSAN LTO > LTFS Tools > Win > IBM_LTFS_SDE_2.4.1.1.10027_x64.zip

Step 2: Download and install Visual C++ 2010 from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999.
Step 3: Install LTFS driver.
Step 4: Use GUI to format LTO tape.
- As the picture below showed, click the LTO drive in GUI and assign a letter for it.

Format LTO drive as LTFS:
*Click “Erase,” and then provide a name and serial in the pop-up window. The serial must be 6 characters.
